Coolum Coastal Property has evolved off the back of a combined 56 years of experience accrued by the company’s directors Andy Lake and Greg Glover. All barring two years have been spent servicing the local beachside communities of Coolum Beach, Yaroomba, Mount Coolum, Peregian Beach / Peregian Springs, Marcoola, Mudjimba and the rural communities of Maroochy River, Ninderry, Valdora, Yandina Creek and all the micro-suburbs adjoining them. Andy started in February 1992 and Greg not quite a year later. Having both achieved in various sporting arenas, each have an instinctive nature to compete. Andy remembers - this saw them as rivals in our early years with both taking “Top Agent” honours at local, state and national level on a regular basis. It wasn’t until they each started young families and through regular camping trips to Boreen Point and Double Island Point where child raising duties were shared, that they allowed their friendship to gradually take the edge off their rivalry and one of the longest lasting “teams” in Sunshine Coast real estate” was born.
Greg credits their success to heeding the advice of a highly respected and knowledgeable client / developer who was a successful real estate agent from Melbourne. “I still remember Ray telling me three things that will shape my future: - 1) Son you will never listen yourself out of a deal. 2) Always remember the client wants to be heard. 3) Referral business (or lack of) will define your success or failure.” 28 years on, those simple lessons still ring loudly.
Andy still has a testimonial for both of them written by Ray on 9th December 1996 which quotes “they are innovative and creative and procure deals where others fail. Their honesty and integrity is beyond reproach”. He still carries it around in his briefcase. Ironically in the hundreds of testimonials offered since, these words repeatedly appear.
Their business model is simple yet incredibly successful. They embrace several obvious, yet highly effective ethea for example: Quality over quantity; Persistence beats resistance; Failure is not an option; What you put in is what you take out; Nothing is impossible; The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result and many more.
Andy quotes “Coolum Coastal Property has been something we’ve spoken about creating for years now, however timing is everything when striving to optimise an outcome. We needed to reach a phase in our lives when we each had the time to devote to our clients. At the end of the day, their success is our success. Our staff are all about “everybody winning”. We embrace flexibility, spontaneity, change, altered approach, patience and urgency and knowing when to exercise each. Our business is definitely “boutique”. We have only four full time people however many reliable support contractors. It works perfectly as it allows our internal group to specialise and focus yet reach out to experts when need be. We are incredibly lucky to have the services of our highly regarded individuals. We have no “staff”, just “team members”. Everyone covers for each other and our clients love it.”
